Socializing Our Pups

ALMAMATER

preservers of the Weimaraner breed

WE START THE STIMULATION ON PUPS FROM DAY 1

Massaging them, touching their paws. Once they hear we start to play different sounds and expose them to different kind of textures and scents.

Sometimes we help moms bottle-feeding the pups a little bit. That time is priceless!

Play area

It is so rewarding to see when they leave home that they are fearless, sociable, outgoing. We have different areas where they play and have fun while we closely supervise them. Because they are puppies and by nature, troublemakers … You can’t leave them alone for one minute in these areas!!!

They love playing in the tunnel

So if their owners decide to do some agility training or compete, these puppies are ready for it!!!

It is so funny when they discover the mirrors

We love those “who are you?” barkings.

We expose them to other pets

They are hunting dogs so, never ever leave a prey animal alone with your Weim

With supervision they can share their beds and snuggle together. This is our minipig Rosita, who is like another dog in the family (and the Boss).

We expose all the pups to our farm animals

Our dogs know who is family and who is not. They hunt bunnies in the wild but not our bunnies.

With Betty Boop, the Westie

My daughter co owns Westies with another breeder and shows them. They are a great addition to our family and all the pups benefit to be exposed since early days to Terriers. They all get along very well!!!

We TRULY BELIEVE IN SOCIALIZATION

True diversity

One of our Weims with Avi, the cat, and Rosita, our minipig. Some people say Weims can’t live with a cat. It is not true! If they are introduced at early age there is no problem at all. We have lots of families that have both Weims and cats.

All the pups are exposed to all of our family members
